About Generacion Floreciente
Barbara (McCauley) Lovejoy is an advocate for Hispanic Youth and an educator who has been a bilingual teacher, English Language Learner
Coordinator, Dual Immersion Coordinator, and is now teaching multicultural
at BYU as well as working with the BYU Counseling Psychology and Special
Education Department. She writes weekly articles on education for Mundo
Hispano, a Hispanic newspaper, and is the author of the book, My Years As
A Hispanic Youth Advocate…and The Lessons I Have Learned. She is the
founder of the nonprofit, Generación Floreciente, the purpose of which
is to implement programs to benefit Hispanic youth such as the Hispanic
Mother/Daughter program for 6th grade girls, Annual Spanish Spelling Bee,
and Lovejoy’s Libros Bookstore for schools and organizations that serve
"at promise" students. She is now serving as the President of UABE
(Utah Association for Bilingual Education).

I have been to one of Barbara's Breakfast meetings and I learned from her
presentation and also the people that were at the table. She brings awareness
and incite on how to reach the Hispanic youth population.
