The book I chose for this month is Write Like This: Teaching Real-World Writing Through Modeling & Mentor Texts by Kelly Gallaghe. that is the current "Education Week Teacher Book Club book. The discussion of this book will take place Feb. 21-23. If you can't participate in the discussion on these dates the transcript can be accessed at a later time.
I was actually going to skip reading this book because it seemed to be written more for middle school and high school teachers. Yet, I decided to read it because I felt it might be helpful with my own personal writing. Not only has it been an excellent book for that purpose, but the ideas in it could be easily adapted for elementary students. I highly recommend this book.
